MOM MONDAYS ARE BACK: The Best Guacamole you will EVER eat.

 

 

She's Back, She's BACK!!!! Who missed 'Mom Mondays'?!?!? I have been trying to talk my mom in to coming back for the past few weeks, and today I demanded it! :) She is making her famous guacamole for my craft night tomorrow, and I thought it would be fun to share the recipe! Seriously people beg her to make it for every party, and I swear people who don't even like guacamole, love hers!

 

 

Its actually super easy, and I have even learned how to make it to perfection....although its never quite the same as 'Mama Sales Guacamole'!

 

 

Start with 6 fresh avocados (firm but not hard)

 

4 plum tomatoes seeded prior to chopping (I like plum as they are meaty and are full of flavor

 

1 small red onion -- chopped fine

 

2-3 fresh jalapenos--chopped fine (jar type can be used but I like fresh whenever possible)

 

the juice of one lime (roll on counter prior to cutting in half to get the most juice)

 

1 large bunch of fresh cilantro--chopped (ONLY FRESH)

 

salt and pepper generously to taste

 

3-4 dashes of hot sauce

Directions:

Cut avocados in half and remove pit.

 

cut a grid patten in avocado halves and scoop out with spoon--leave chunky

 

squeeze lime juice over entire bowl of avocado (for flavor but to also prevent browning

 

add remaining ingredients--mix & enjoy!!

 

Serve with hearty chips to hold up this chunky hearty dip!

 

Try a variation with roasted corn added.....soooo good!

TIP--cover with plastic wrap and push plastic to touch all guacamole and leave no air.....air is what causes it to brown by the following day!

I never thought that I'd have my child's name put up in their room. Well check off that one. My mom found some letters for really cheap and I have tons if twine leftover from the garland so I just started wrapping and occasionally gluing and  that was it!

 

 

 

 

Craft Night Preview: Part 3

 

 

I'm seriously SO excited for my first official Craft Night this coming Tuesday, like SO EXCITED. I officially have everything ready, and now all I need is for it to be Tuesday! If you missed PART 1 or PART 2 check it out NOW! This will be the last preview, and then we will just have to wait 3 long days to see the big reveal and how it all came together!!

 

For Part 3 I decided to share some of our supplies, and how I decided to display them! I always love mixing modern & vintage, so I took some of my new vintage finds that's you may have saw on my INSTAGRAM, and mixed them with some modern buckets & glass jars...then used my DIP-DYE OMBRE TAGS to label them!!

I'm heading to an 'INVITE PARTY' tonight, haha, set up by the beautiful Bride to be Jessica from this fun ENGAGEMENT PARTY! SO excited her wedding is approaching fast and we are making her invites.... and they are like I have never seen before...maybe after all the guest get them, she will let me share!!! ;)

Wanted to share our FAVORITE fancy party drink!! We have served it at a few showers, and honestly beside the bride it was the star of the show! Ha, really though!

 

 

Bubbles & Berries:

 

Ingredients:

Berries

Grand Marnier

Citrus Vodka

Chambord

Cointreau
Champagne

Dry Ice

 

Directions:

First let the berries soak in the Grand Marnier for 3 days. Add a tiny piece of dry ice to your glass. Next mix 1 part Citrus Vodka, 1 part Chambord, and 1/2 part Cointreau. Add berries and a splash of champagne.... watch bubble and smoke and enjoy!
(It sound like a lot but you can make the mix a head of time in a big pitcher!)

Gift Registry for the Modern Bride.

Gift registry is not what it used to be, lets face it times have changed since ordering China was your biggest concern! Pinwheel Backdrop

Its springtime, and I wanted to do something fun & whimsical for our front window display at our boutique Whittaker House. We have a pretty huge wall that I decided to fill with pinwheels! You can find the pinwheel tutorial in my previous blog post {Pinwheel Napkin Place Setting}!

This time I made large pinwheels by just using the entire sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper!

It's so cute and just SCREAMS 'Summer is COMING'!!!
