DIY Chain Headband

The whole initial reason for D.I.Y's is to save money, yes being creative is a major plus, but creating something you have seen for a lower price is really the fun of it!

So while out shopping recently I saw a colorful chain headband that I loved but it was $40, although it was super cute, I knew I could make one myself, for at least half the cost. This D.I.Y headband cost me a total of $6, and only about 15 minutes of my time & I LOVEEE how it turned out (it's even better then the one I saw in the store, love when that happens!!!) Cant wait to make more colors!!

Happy Monday!

Love how this bridal shower turned out that my mom and I threw for one of my dearest friends!Between the watering can centerpieces to the watering can cookies, it was so colorful & fun!

DIY ZOMBIE

What is with all the zombie craze?! I'm not sure where it came from, but I kind of love it! My husband's a huge fan of The Walking Dead as are millions of others & I think he is about to turn into a zombie if they don't air a new episode, stat.

This Halloween our friends decided to have a zombie party, I went as a flower child zombie, and my husband went as Where's Waldo zombie, haha, maybe the last time he lets me pick his costume:)!

So in honor of all you freaking out waiting patiently for the return of The Walking Dead, I decided to do a D.I.Y tutorial on zombie make-up. Its honestly SO SO easy, so don't be afraid to try it!

I think it turned out to die for...

Fashion is For Real

As some of you may know, I manage a amazing boutique in New Buffalo, MI called Whittaker House! Whittaker House has been in business for almost 29 years, and carries the most unique clothing and accessories from all over the world! (Yes that was a shameless plug, but whatever, it really is an amazing boutique!!;)

I always say 'fashion is for real'...because it is, and whether you like to admit it or not a fact is a fact, one thing that we all have in common, is having to get up everyday and get dressed. The best part about fashion is YOU get to decide...Fashion doesn't mean expensive, or being something your not...most importantly fashion simply means BEING YOU!

I decided to take a look back at my favorite fashion moments of 2012!

(& come back every Wednesday for 'What I'm Wearing Wednesdays'!)

Happy Sunday! Be Creative!

'Its a boy' Baby Shower

Last spring my friend Jess and I hosted a baby shower for one of my favorite people and her un-born now 7 month old little chunker... we had SO much fun planning this shower, and I think the way it came together was just adorable!  People always say with boys your limited on the cuteness factor, but I think with this shower we have proven that is SO NOT TRUE! You decide....

My hubs gets put to work, probably more than his liking, but he deals with it like a champ...just like when I asked him to paint this tree canvas for me...turned out so cute too!
How fun are those mustache decals?!?! Found them at this cute Etsy Shop! LOVE THEM!

Can't have a baby shower without a d.i.y sundae bar and a popcorn machine right?!

At least that's how I feel;)!

Baby shower games are so fun I mean over-rated;)! I would much rather do crafts!

Party favors are a must, and they don't have to be pricey or store bought! At Ali's baby shower we decided to give away flower seed with these tags "All things grow with love" LOVE IT!

and then came grey! (see, told you he was a chunker!)

'Key to Happiness' Engagement Party

This will be the first of many upcoming party post!!! YAY! My favorite!;)
Some of our dearest friends Ryan and Jess are getting married at The Red Barn Experience this coming September and I could not be more excited about it!! I have been friends with the groom for years and love him like a brother...him and my husband immediately hit it off upon meeting and now have what we like to refer to as a bromance...oops not allowed to say that word! As for the bride, we have got to know each other over the past few years, and I could not love her more!!!

They have been engaged since last December, and I feel sometimes with a long engagement it can seem like forever, and nothings going on. I get a text from Jess everyday with a countdown, literally everyday(she's lucky, I am crazy too)...and once we hit the 1 year, 365 day mark I knew it was time to get this party started...

I have said this a 100 times, and you will probably hear me say it a 100 more;
IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS!!

I wanted to give them a very special engagement party with tons of little details true to them!

I love making my own invites!! It's the best way
for them to be the most personalized!!

How adorable are these bulldog salt & pepper shakers?!
Love them!! Perfect for there child Royce;)

Thanks for visiting!

The 'Couples' Advent Calender

My husband and I have always been kids at heart, and although we don't have any kids yet, doesn't mean we cant celebrate the holidays as if we were kids or had kids;)! I LOVE advent calendars, and really wanted to do one for the two of us, but the chance of getting my husband to go out and buy little gifts for everyday of the month, was a HUGE stretch...we just got the idea of stocking stuffers under control, so I thought I probably shouldn't push it!
After thinking for a while, I decided to make a 'couples' advent calendar, which consists of little love/ funny notes to each other! It actually turned out super cute and in my husbands words "no problem"!
I think it turned out super cute! Think I can talk him in to a V-day one?!

Have a creative day! xo
