Simple Studs: Make Your Own Earring Sets

Who wants a cute pair of earrings for under $1...I do I do!! I may be sharing too many of my secrets here, but what the hay...

I have a hoarding problem with these little flower cabochons that I purchase from this ETSY SHOP don't ask why, I just do;)! I have used them for so many things(like in my Pinwheel Chevron Place Setting), but these adorable stud earrings take the cake!! They are not only easy to make, but they look so dainty & adorable on!

I also decided to share my button earring tutorial! Also SO easy and can also be made for under $1! I used both studs to make cute coordinating sets and gave them away as Christmas gifts!! BIG HIT!

FLOWER STUDS:  (Flower Cabochons, E-6000 Glue, Earring post & backs)

Directions--- Glue Cabochon on to earring post & let dry for 1 hour, easy as that!

COVERED BUTTON STUDS: (Fabric, metal button kit, E-6000 Glue, Earring Post & backs)

Directions--- I was going to try and explain how to cover a button but an explanation makes it seem so much more difficult than it is! But if you need help I found a great picture demo on this BLOG! Once you have covered your button, I use the pliers to remove the shank, then attach back with glue and let dry for 1 hour!!

If you plan on giving them as gifts I made these cute little earring holders out of craft paper, and then hole punched them to put the post through! I then put them in cute little linen bags like in this BLOG POST!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xox

The Modern Momma: DIY Teething Biscuits

We had a MAJOR response to 'The Modern Momma's' FIRST POST...& she's back with a new DIY!

DIY Teething Cookie
By Lauren

Be careful with this recipe  because it is very addicting for kids, babies and adults. My friend came over and she couldn't stop eating them! I had to limit her three!!

NEED:

2 tbs butter
1/2 C. Sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp water
1 1/2 C. Baby cereal

DIRECTIONS:
This time I used 1/2 cup dried squash baby food and 1 cup oatmeal. Use what you have!
Last time I had banana oatmeal left over so I did that instead.

Heat oven to 300°. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs baking soda salt vanilla and water. Gradually stir in cereal. Knead until smooth. Rollout to .5" thickness. Place on ungreased sheet (I used our pizza stone) and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until dry. Store in an open container. The harder the better.

These are a winner for Mac!

Seriously? Seriously...Mac IS that cute & judging by the look on his face, I think he might of liked loved them just a little bit! HA!

Ps. I'm pretty sure WE talked Lauren into it! I may or may not have 2 more 'Modern Momma' blogs just waiting, ready to post;)!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend... and for all my east coast family & friends, glad your all safe and having a grand ol' time playing in the snow! Don't think I don't see all your fun photos on facebook while I'm  sitting here at work! ;) xox

D.I.Y CHEVRON LINEN BAGS

Ughh, forgive me, but I really can't get enough chevron! I bought this AWESOME huge chevron stamp, and this is just the first of many DIY's I have planned for it! As you may have seen I have a RTS BRACELET SALE going on, and as I was packing the sold ones to be shipped in these cute linen bags  ding ding ding I thought, duh, I need to stamp them!!! ;) I stamped just the corner; I thought it was cool and unexpected there! I think it added that little special touch I was looking for! They would be so cute for party favor bags, or just for a little jewelry bag!

I also included the cute packaging I put around them! Gotta love glitter stickers & leopard note cards;)

I purchased my stamp HERE ...they are sold out often, but if you are crazy persistent like me, then keep checking back and it will come back in stock!;)

Have a creative day! xox
