Modern Momma: Yummy DIY Summer Popsicles

Yummy DIY Summer Popsicles
By Lauren

You guy these are so easy your going to wonder why you haven't made your own!
For my first batch I cut up some peaches and nectarines out maybe a tablespoon of honey ad a splash of orange juice in my magic bullet and poured into molds. Since my son went through all of them in one day, I had to make more. The next batch I did were strawberries and frozen chocolate covered banana bites. Just those two ingredients blended and poured into molds. Are you guys dumbfounded?! Seriously. My next ones I want to do (not super healthy) are just gummy bears an sprite. How refreshing does thy sound?  And after I have baby number 2, I WILL be making these watermelon margarita Popsicles for me!

And here are some of my favorite molds- I'm seriously addicted.

And P. S. I've notices the sticks that have holes in them work better than the ones that don't. Or if you don't want to buy molds just youse Dixie cups and popsicle sticks!!

DIY Doily Dream Catcher By Lauren

A while back I posted a BADASS DREAMCATCHER DIY by my sister... the most difficult part of this DIY was the 'web' in the middle. Lauren and I were talking about alternatives one day and she shouted out 'DOILY'... ummm duh!!! She ended up making a few, and I am SO EXCITED about how they turned out!!

Doily dream catcher.

Seriously so easy.

All you need is an embroidery hoop, Crocheted doilies, Jute, Newspaper, & one huge bead.

Put the doily In the hoop and clamp shut (On my other one I dyed it with tea). Then I made the newspaper feathers by cutting out a feather shape and sliced up the sides. The I kinda crumpled them up an flattened them back out. At the end (the stem) I rolled them up and put them in the bead (I made 4 leaves). On on end of the jute I glued the bead with the leaves and on the other I glue it on the hoop.
You can totally make I your own and put more strings with feathers or different colored beads real feathers.

DIY Driftwood Pendant Necklace By: The Modern Momma

Driftwood Pendant Necklaces
By: The Modern Momma

Thank God for vacations but I'm SO glad I'm home! Back to DIYing and all things fun! So where I went on vacation all the way on the top of Michigan there is an OVER supply of driftwood. My amazing uncle went on a walk and collected some awesome pieces for me to create the pendants!

All you need is some driftwood, wire, necklace, jump rings and needle nosed pliers.

I didn't have to put wire on the wood but I like the different materials.
The driftwood was still kind of playable so I was able just to loop the ring through the wood and clamp it shut instead of drilling a hole.
Put it all together and what do you get? A killer necklace!

Thanks for sharing Lauren!! LOVE this one!! XOX

DIY Yarn & Burlap Curtains

Just recently while our Modern Momma was on vacation she sent me this pic of this AMAZING Anthropology table setting with a super cool burlap and yarn table runner! Of course she figured out the coolest way to incorporate them into her own home decor!! I was over there recently and knew I had to share!!!

DIY YARN & BURLAP CURTAINS
By: The Modern Momma

Our little family finally took a vacation to Seattle! While I was about walking with Mac for a little 'us' time I wandered into Anthropologie and came across this burlap table runner. I fell in LOVE. The only thing is I don't have a farm table that seats 12 in my house on a regular basis. So how do I take this and make it my own? CURTAINS! So I took some measurements and ran my butt up to Hobby Lobby as fast as I could. My dining room sliding door took almost 5 yards of fabric (don't forget to use your HL app for 40% off!) I got a brown fuzzy yarn and a large knitting needle and started weaving! There are a thousand ways you can hang them (and easier) but I had some stitch witchery and just ironed them. My husband likes to say that I "half assed it" but with an almost one year old (EEK!) running after the yarn ball rolling around on the floor I'd say they are pretty fab!
